**** RFL WEEK IN REVIEW ****
IT'S AN ALL-CAMBRIDGE BACKYARD BRAWL

Aglione Bowl X will be decided between two GM's who first met in Cambridge at a house along the Charles in 1985. This will be the first Aglione Bowl appearance for each GM - and obviously the Championship would be the first for either JoePa or Wang.
JoePa's Black Sox ''edged'' DCIAC 50-23 - while Wang's FU whipped UWSSM 58-28. DCIAC will battle UWSSM for 3rd, Romanians take on SLAB for 5th, and 12 Angry Men will take the field against Brian's bums to settle last place once and for all.
The top scoring teams: SLAB (34.9) and FU (33.9)
The lowest scoring teams: 12 Angry Men (16.8) and Brian (19.4)
The League scoring average is: 27.0
The worst D: Brian's bums (31.1)
The best D: The South Side Black Sox (23.7)

PARITY DIVISION

The teams drafting #1-#4 in the Draft (Joebob, Tim, Cals, Kevin) now each stand at 8-8. The lowest scoring team (Cals' Beavers) and the highest scoring team (Joebob's MiB) are separated by a mere 450-422 margin. Even the gap in scoring D is only 4.1 ppg from the weakest (Tim's Bugs) to the strongest (Cals' Beavers).
The #13-#16 Division (JoePa, Dylan, Brodz, Ali) leads all divisions with 38 wins. The #5-#8 Division (Clark, Vesh, Wally, Brian) has matched the Parity Division with 32 wins. The "Other" Division (Desais, Gary, Stan, Wang) is bringing up the rear with 26 W's.
Enough random babbling... on to WIR #16!

**** GAME OF THE WEEK ****

Ferocious Underwear 58
Upper West Side Stomp Mongers 28

Dylan's run for the roses came to a screeching halt once Emmitt was held to a mere 9 against the Saints - and Stephen Davis was a "no go" on Sunday night. Kerry and Al performed well for UWSSM, but Dylan's pass catching trio came up empty.
Faulk and Jeffers put up HUGE numbers fo FU on Sunday, and JJ and Olindo got in some mop up work on Monday night. FU is riding a 6-game winning streak into Aglione Bowl X. UWSSM has lost 3 of their last 4. FU had won the previous meeting 25-17 in Week 11.
Alan Greenspan took SDavis' spot in Dylan's backfield.

The South Side Black Sox 50
Don't Call It a Comeback 23

The Black Sox duo of McNair and Edgerrin put the wood to Kevin's DCIAC - in the first matchup of this season between these 2 teams. In fact, McNair and James outscored 12 entire RFL teams this week. Kevin needed a big point advantage from the pass catchers, but Galloway, Holt, and Gonzalez were shutout. JoePa takes a 3-game winning streak into the title game - while DCIAC will face UWSSM for 3rd.

Bladerunners 13
Refreshed Romanians 44

After feeling disrespected by being made 3-point underdogs against Bladerunners this weekend, Romanian GM Vesh directed a Refreshed Romanian squad to a resounding triumph over Clark's team.
"Just as we should be... Brodz and I are facing off in the last week of the season. Unfortunately, we're playing for 5th instead of 1st," said a visibly disappointed Vesh.
"This organization has a lot of pride - so we're going to use this victory over Clark - and our Orange Bowl game against Brodz - to set the tone for next year," Vesh rambled on.
After scoring 63 in the regular season finale, Clark's 'runners have scored 12 and 13 in two postseason games.
Bladerunners were led by Wayne's Monday night TD and will face Y2K Bugs for 7th place. Bladerunners beat the Romanians 42-28 all the way back in Week 1.

Y2K Bugs 19
Skintight Leather Assless Bodysuits 26

Y2K Bugs continue to fizzle down the stretch - dropping to 3-7 over the last 10 games. M Harrison has scored 3 points or less in 5 straight games, and Flutie failed to score for the first time all season - after reclaiming his starting spot - following a 1-game benching in favor of Gus.
Alstott and Cris were all the 'suits Brodz would need to win for the 10th time in the last 12 SLAB outings. T Glenn sat this one out due to "my tummy hurts." After losing in the quarterfinals last week, rumors immediately surfaced from the New England area that SLAB GM Brodz and Coach Pete Carroll might be on the hot seat.
This was the first meeting of the year between these 2 teams.

Wide Open Beavers 28
Enid Furth Harmony 34

The difference in this rematch of venerable RFL GM's (in Week 12, Cals whoopassed Stan 44-24) was Larry Centers' OT TD on Sunday nitro. Cals has now lost 5 of 7, and the Beavers continue to find new ways to lose. Despite holding B'lein, TBrown, and Hanson in check... Olandis, Larry, and Derrick were able to bust loose against Cals.
After starting the 99-00 campaign at 0-5, Stan now has EFH even at 8-8 - and looking to finish with a winning record by beating Wally's Beagles in the championship game of the Scrub Bowl.
Former EFH flop Robert Smith led Wide Open Beavers on this day with a dozen.

Crazed Beagles on the Run 31
Team Desai 26

Desais entered Monday night's action trailing Crazed Beagles by 19 points. PK Hall met his quota with 8, but Keyshawn only got 1 damn TD - instead of the requisite 2. Garner could have picked up KJ's slack, but pulled himself from Sunday night's game - and refused to allow the SF trainers to cure his ailments. Curious.
Hoard and Levens stumbled their way into the endzone 3 times for Wally's Beagles.
Team Desai beat Crazed Beagles 21-15 in Week 4 this year.

In Week 11, Ali's JIU DEMOLISHED Gary's Upset Dozen 52-13. 12 Angry Men put up a little more of a fight this time around, but still fell by 2 TD's. Kitna, Rhett, and LaFleur posted a 666 for JIU. Troy, Warrick, and Rickey matched for Gary, but Stover provided the decisive 14 point edge in outbooting Stoyanovich.

Men in Brown 59
Brian's bums 26

Also in Week 11... Brian put the first nail in the coffin containing Joebob's playoff hopes. Marcus Robinson and Terry Kirby outscored the entire MiB team on that day.
MiB gained a small measure of revenge by whomping the bums in Week 16, but only managed the avoid the indignity of playing in the last place game next week. Joebob's Johnson-Westbrook awoke from the dead for the 1st time since Week 10 - with Johnson performing splendidly.
Larry of ORCL took snaps behind center in this game for Brian. Terry Kirby wrapped up his inaugural bum season nicely - and is currently tied with Curtis Martin for 15th in RFL RB scoring.

The curtain has probably come down on Wang's Warner and Faulk show. Wang mistakenly pulled the plug one week too early on Warner, but figured Banks needed to get his snaps in against UWSSM in the semis. JoePa's fearsome twosome of Air McNair and Edgerrin James will take the field for Aglione Bowl X with everything to play for - as the Titans and Colts are both still jockeying for NFL playoff positioning.
In Week 2's GOTW, Edgerrin led the Black Sox to a 21-4 drubbing of FU. In perhaps a bit of foreshadowing, JoePa and Wang were the only 1-0 teams to face each other in Week 2.
Both JoePa and Wang have struggled all year at WR. Wang drafted MIrvin and RMoore to be his starting WR's - while JoePa picked DAlexander and FSanders. Irvin scored 21 points in the first 4 weeks, but then went down against the Eagles and was lost for the season. Wang has gone back to Moore down the stretch, but Moore has not scored yet this season (in 6 RFL starts). Amani Toomer has established himself as the Black Sox' #1 WR, but JoePa has struggled to find an adequate complement for the former Wolverine star.
The strong point of both teams has been at RB. FU and the Black Sox rank 2 and 3 in RB scoring - where Wang holds a 218-183 advantage. However... Wang will need to find an sufficient substitute for the resting Faulk to take on Edgerrin (and a recuperated Ricky Williams) in the Ags Bowl. JoePa and Wang are the top QB point teams in RFL and are deadlocked at 127-127 in season QB points. But while Wang will be hit-or-miss with Tony Banks, JoePa has gotten 7 consecutive strong outings from Air McNair.
If Wang's QB and RB's fail to keep things close against their counterparts, look for The South Side Black Sox to win Aglione Bowl X going away.

**** It should be a Black Sunday for FU: Black Sox by 4 ****
