Fellow RFL GM's,
Now that we have gotten past the unpleasantries of the Funky Forecasts, let's take a look at the Week 1 matchups:

Game of the Week:
Wally (Crazed Beagles on the Run) vs. Brian (-nameless-)

WallyAdvantageBrian
C McNownS Young
D LevensB Morris
L HoardC Way
E MouldsJJ Stokes
J SmithK McCardell
C CleelandM Chmura
G AndersonC Boniol
Brother vs. Brother.
Wally brought in his bro to line the League coffers with an extra/easy $50. Wally's squad has the look of a Steamroller contender. A win in Week 1 would get them started on the right foot. Brian's team will require the GM skills of Brodz' to scrape their way into the playoffs. At least Chmura seems to be less injured than Cleeland!
The key matchup: Levens vs. Bam - Brian needs Bam to match Levens' production *somehow*.
The Pick... Crazed Beagles by 15.

Other games:

Joebob (-nameless-) vs. Tim (Y2K Bugs)
The key matchup: T Davis vs. F Taylor.
The only apparent weakness on each of these teams is the backup RB. C Collins could come through for Joebob; L Phillips or G Hill could come through for the Bugs. The supporting casts seem to be dead even.
In perhaps a slight upset... Joebob by 1.

Cals (Wide Open Beavers) vs. Kevin (Don't Call It a Comeback)
Brother-in-law vs. Brother-in-law! The RFL scheduling Gods work in mysterious ways.
The key matchup: C Calloway vs. T Holt.
The other 6 starters for Cals appear to be better balanced than Kevin's. Don't Call It a Comeback should get outscored badly in the WR and PK positions. If Holt can start his rookie year with 2 TD's, Cals could go down hard.
... Wide Open Beavers by 6.

Clark (Bladerunners) vs. Josh (Reborn Romanians)
The key matchup: D Ward vs. T Martin.
These teams look relatively evenly matched, but the untimely injury to Bladerunners' WR Chrebet should make the Romanians the clear favorite. If the newly acquired starter Dedric Ward can outpoint Joebob refugee T "Big Green Washing Machine" Martin, Bladerunners just might pull this one off.
... Romanians by 4.

Desais (Team Desai) vs. Gary (12 Angry Men)
The key matchup: K Stewart vs. Ra Cunningham.
Your humble Probationary Commish was eyeing Kordell as a potential 3rd or 4th round pick with tremendous potential. Clark probably has other thoughts on Kordell. Without Pickens Team Desai will be handicapped against 12 Angry Men. Gary's team might need a TD from S Hicks to win. You read it here first that Hicks will hit paydirt on Sunday.
The jury finds... 12 Angry Men by 3.

Stan (Enid Furth Harmony) vs. Dave W. (Ferocious Underwear)
The key matchup: K Faulk vs. M Faulk.
This game will feature the battle of Faulk's. If Wang's Marshall doesn't outpoint Stan's Kevin by at least 12, Enid Furth Harmony should win this war. Due to the uncertain natures of Ferocious Underwear's Plummer, Rob Moore, and Biakabutuka (thumb, contract holdout, and lost starting job), Enid Furth Harmony's more stable lineup should prevail.
... Enid Furth Harmony by 5.

JoePa (The South Side Black Sox) vs. Dylan (Upper West Side Stomp Mongers)
The key matchup: R Williams vs. D Staley.
The South Side Black Sox have been training under wraps all preseason long. Everyone pretty much knows that Upper West Side Stomp Mongers are a solid club. The outcome of this contest is virtually impossible to predict - just like trying to forecast what Risky Williams and Duce will do this year on their passing-game-challenged NFL clubs.
In perhaps another "upset"... The South Side Black Sox by 2.

Brodz (Skintight Leather Assless Bodysuits) vs. Ali (Jock Itch United)
The key matchup: Brodz' RB's vs. Ali's RB's.
Jock Itch United is pretty much stronger at all 5 other starting positions, so Brodz' E George and M Alstott will need to outscore P Holmes and F Lane by about 18.
Ali justifies Foge's faith in his club... Jock Itch United by 3.
