Back to the RFL'01 Year in Review
Playoff MVP:

[] Shaun Alexander (Dude) - scored 18, 3 and 15 pts in 3 playoff games - leading Clark's team in postseason scoring (with 36); RWatters might be a Brownie next year
[] Marshall Faulk (Mahatma's Minions) - Joebob didn't win Ags Bowl, but it wasn't Faulk's fault - as he led all players in postseason scoring with 78 pts; is Playoff MVP biggest scorer? or Ags Bowl winner?
[] Other: ____

RFL MVP:

[] Shaun Alexander (Dude) - 3rd highest scoring RB at the end of the regular season, 135 pts in 10 starts, Clark was 1-3 in games Alexander didn't start
[] David Boston (BUBE) - top performer (#5 WR in regular season) on Steamroller champion
[] Marshall Faulk (Mahatma's Minions) - RFL's leading scorer in the regular season (164 pts in 11 starts)
[] Kurt Warner (Pimps de la Nast) - top-scoring non-RB with 151 pts (in 13 starts), didn't have supporting cast comparable to Alexander's or Faulk's
[] Other: ____

Steal of the Draft:

[] Shaun Alexander (Dude, 9th round) - 3rd in RFL RB pts (to Faulk and Priest) at the end of the regular season (2nd after the playoffs); RFL Playoffs MVP frontrunner; picked AFTER Moe Williams, Shawn Bryson, Travis Prentice and Skip Hicks.
[] Troy Brown (Steamers, 9th) - finished 12th in WR pts (ahead of IBruce, JRice and EMoulds); returned 2 punts for TDs
[] Marcus Pollard (HaHT - traded to BCW, 11th) - finished 2nd in TE pts - just 8 pts behind 2nd rounder TGonzalez (with 3 fewer starts than TonyG)
[] Bill Schroeder (BKotC, 11th) - starting in only 11 of 17 games... finished tied for 16th in WR pts (tied with CCarter, ahead of AToomer, Keyshawn and AFreeman); picked after Darnay Scott, Jacquez Green and Matthew Hatchette
[] Antowain Smith (Boobies!, 8th) - finished 9th in RB pts (ahead of SDavis, TBarber and GHearst) with only 12 starts
[] Other: ____

Bust of the Draft:

For purposes of this list, players knocked out for an extended period of time due to injury were not considered.

[] Cris Carter (Pimps de la Nast, 3rd round) - 16th in WR pts (dropping from 108 '00 pts to 63 '01 pts) - tied with BSchroeder (Carter had 5 more starts); only 3 pts ahead of Kevin Johnson (Cris had 6 more starts); scored total of 6 pts in last 7 games. ...all he did was publicly show up teammates.
[] Warrick Dunn (Jersey Juggernauts, 2nd round) - dropped from 123 '00 pts to 63 '01 pts (17th amoung RBs); was expected to really take over for Alstott this year; missed 4 starts due to wimpiness.
[] Eddie George (Dude, 1st round) - missed 4 starts, but not all due to injury (lost starting job to Stacey Mack); dropped from 192 pts to 51; one word (which never previously could be attached to Eddie)... ''unreliable.''
[] Randy Moss (Short-Changed Bastards of Persia, 1st round) - 5th in WR pts is acceptable for nearly any other WR, shutout in all 3 postseason games, shutout in 5 total games, scored only 3 pts in 4 other games, only got into double-digits in 4 of 16 games. If he only had a heart (or a brain)...
[] Other: ____

Pickup of the Year:

[] Tom Brady (Mahatma's Minions, before Week 5) - Finished 15th in QB scoring (39 pts in 6 starts) - filling in quite nicely for Minion Brunell and kept the Mahatma's scoring machine running smoothly.
[] Ernie Conwell (Vesh, before Week 1) - Ended up 6th (39 pts) in TE pts; not bad production from the TE spot after Vesh failed to draft a TE (and after stiffs like HCross, RoWilliams and RDudley were picked in the Draft).
[] Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala (Brad, before Week 13) - Strong performance (39 pts in 5 starts) down the stretch helped BCW get to the Scrub Bowl.
[] Kevin Johnson (Wang, before Week 2) - Finished 18th in WR pts (60 pts, 3 more than Keyshawn); drafted by Wang, dropped for Jay Feely, picked up again to replace Neil O'Donnell, wasted away on bench behind Keyshawn and Boston until being traded to HaHT in Gannon-Tomlinson deal, got starts 5 and 6 for Richard, traded to BCW in return-of-Priest trade, scored 39 pts in 6 starts for Brad.
[] Dominic Rhodes (Gary, before Week 8) - Finished 11th in RB pts (99 pts in 10 starts); shortly after losing both RWatters and JStewart, Gary was able to nab Edgerrin's replacement - who (partnered with Peyton) carried EGD into the semifinals.
[] Other: ____

GM of the Year:

[] Clark Goebel (Dude) - after limping into the Playoffs on a 4-game losing streak, was able to flip the switch and win Aglione Bowl XII. Survived quite a few injuries (EMcCaffrey, DStaley, EGeorge, CCleeland and SJanikowski) by picking up free agents (MBooker, ABecht and RLindell) and making a key trade (DStaley for DJackson)
[] Brad Nall (Blue Collar Workers) - raised standards for performance of a Draft leftover team (5 wins, not last in total pts scored), properly active in free agent pickups (19.6% of total number; 45/230), set record by making 8 trades (with 6 different GMs: Adam!, Richard, Ali, Wang, Clark and Stan)
[] Joe Pynadath (Mahatma's Minions) - came in 2nd in regular season and Playoffs. Led League in total pts scored. Took Marshall Faulk with 1st pick in Draft. Strong Draft resulted in keeping 8 of 12 players start to finish (replaced DLevens, TMathis, RHolcombe and SMatthews with TCanidate, PPrice, KMangum and TPeterson).
[] David Wang (Brooding Unicorn Blithe Elephant) - won 1st Steamroller, tied record for best regular season record (13-1) and best overall record (15-2). Very active in free agent market and made 2 trades, so as usual... finished season with only 3 drafted players (CMartin, ATrain and DBoston).
[] Other: ____

Comeback Player of the Year:

[] Curtis Conway (Dude) - 12 pts (#41 WR) in 2000, 81 pts (#11 WR) this year; finally performed as a Charger as he had shown promise as a Bear
[] Doug Flutie (Invasive Species) - 12 pts (#28 QB) in 2000, 90 pts (#10 QB) this year; was 11th QB drafted, so numbers came in right around Stan's expectations
[] Garrison Hearst (Boobies!) - 0 pts in 2000 (and '99, too!), 99 pts (#11 RB) this year; would've been contender for MVP if TDs were more in line with his yardage numbers
[] Priest Holmes (Having a Hard Time) - 27 pts (#33 RB) in 2000, 162 pts (#3 RB) this year; would be rich if you'd bet this guy to win NFL '01 rushing title
[] Kevin Johnson (Blue Collar Workers) - 3 pts (#56 WR) in 2000, 60 pts (#18 WR) this year; '00 was incredibly bad year sandwiched between 2 quite adequate seasons
